Security Measures
All credit card information is sent over Secure Socket Layer (SSL/Https) encryption ensuring that all of your
personal data is handled by a PCI compliant merchant. TriMyWorkout does not store any of your personal data or
credit card information.
It says you have a SSL Certificate Error?
Fear not, your data is encrypted and the certificate is valid. Here's why you're seeing that message though:
Any person can create an SSL Certificate and have it signed by any old Certificate Authority and it will encrypt the data
just as if you were submitting a transaction using SSL over say Amazon. SSL is SSL. The difference is, when you
get an SSL Certificate you sign it saying "I am TriMyWorkout". Now, there are some well known companies out such as Verisign
that charge around $700/year to sign their name to my certificate and say "Yes, this is TriMyWorkout". Your browser
will look to see if Verisign or some other "common" Certificate Authority has signed the certificate. If the browser doesn't see this
signature it will say that "this certificate is signed by TriMyWorkout and I don't know who that is." Given that this site
is not exactly pulling in big money I can't afford to pay $700/year. You just have to realize that TriMyWorkout (me) created
this certificate (just like Verisgn would) and is using SSL (like every other secure site) and that since I signed it I verify that I am who I am. Of course, I'm not the only
one to do this. You see the same message when you log into Gmail as Google signs their own certificates as well.
